HOW TO STYLE RED BOOTIES
I have searched high and low for the perfect red bootie for the past few years. Red is such a powerful color and it makes any outfit pop. Red symbolizes love, passion, strength, power, and determination. These red booties are downright sexy and I felt like a Queen walking around in them. After a long internet search I found them and of course, they didn’t have my size. I checked the website for over a week and FINALLY, there they were a size 6. I had to have them.
I ordered the booties from justfab.com and they arrived within a week. Finding something to wear with the booties was now the task. I knew I had to style them with something simple and not too busy so the boot could be the highlight of the outfit. These boots can easily be paired with jeans, slacks a dress or skirt.
I decided to pair the booties with these thick black leggings I got from JC Penny a few months ago. They are the perfect pair of leggings because they are thick and remind me more of pants. I knew I wanted a white top but I couldn’t find one in my closet that made the outfit pop. I was out doing some shopping at a thrift store and found the cutest top (pictured). The top is definitely from the 80’s or 90’s because it came with shoulder pads, scarf, and brooch. I absolutely feel like I lucked up with this shirt. The scarf is beautiful and the brooch with the pearl and gold just makes this outfit jazzy. I love accessories and the brooch is one of my favorite parts of this outfit.
A cute jacket was all I needed to pair with the booties and gray just seemed like a good color contrast with the black, red, white and gold. While shopping I also found this jacket which I can’t even believe because it is so cute. The jacket is a gray tweed blend. It has black velvet buttons and a black velvet collar. For the jacket and the shirt, I paid less than $15.00 which is super affordable for two pieces that are in great condition which I know I plan on wearing again.
The shirt is super big on me it was like a size 14/16 in women’s. I did not want the top to look baggy, big and drown me out so I decided to pair a belt with the shirt to accentuate my curves and waist. I was thinking a plain black skinny belt but then I remembered I ordered this gold metal plate skinny belt last summer that I never wore from Missguided. I only paid around $8.00 for the belt. Missguided always has cute items and they usually have some good sales.
Accessories: For the accessories, I decided to keep it simple since I already had the jazzy shirt with scarf and brooch. The purse is vintage which I got from my mom. I have no idea what brand it is but I have had it for years and I love it. The purse is bronze in color. It has a braided chain strap and the clasp is gold. It’s not too big which I love because of how easy it is to throw my card carrier, some lipstick, and my phone in it and keep it moving.
I put on a gold watch which when I’m just out and about I think I mentioned in an earlier post how I always wear a watch with my outfits because I think they are a stylish accessory. I have on studded gold earrings and some gold rings I got from Forever 21.
You can pretty much style these booties with any piece of clothing you like as long as the outfit is simple and you let the booties shine. It’s easy to get in a little funk in the winter and our wardrobe tends to get a little less fancy because it’s cold and we just look for comfort. These booties are a perfect way to add some color to your winter wardrobe.
